Allow me to translate: what this means is that you can now use your LinkedIn account to manage your true professional connections without necessarily having to worry about increasing the size of your network for pure search reasons. This is hot because now when you do a narrow (very specific) search you won’t be wondering if there’s people you missed. As long as your search results in less than 1,000 contacts will know with certainty that you have found all the contacts existing in LinkedIn for that set of criteria.
Another cool thing I’ve been experimenting with for about a year is now part of this new account type and it is the “project management” piece which is a downloadable toolbar that enhances useability and workflow. I understand they are adding some quite useful recruitment workflow enhancements to it but as it stands now you can do the following:
- Categorize LinkedIn profiles you find into virtual folders
- Save your searches from within LinkedIn
- Add private comments and tags to profiles to help you track which ones you’ve already seen, contacted, etc.
- And reduce duplication of effort by collaborating with co-workers so they can see your virtual folders and comments coming out on Q1 (an enhancement to the online experience)
Also included and exclusive to Pro Plus corporate account holders you get three “slots” or “parking spaces” where you can rotate your top priority jobs. This is particularly useful to those of us who use LinkedIn in our signature – with a link to your priority jobs you can draw the curious yet passive candidate to look at your postings and also your profile!
BTW - for you managers out there - with this account you can also request customizable usage reports so you can track activity for you and your team!
LinkedIn Corporate Solutions should be releasing this and other updates on this page over the coming months and don’t forget to check out my extensive LinkedIn resources page: http://jobmachine.net/linkedin
